Barnsley College hosts professional hairdressing seminar
Barnsley College recently played host to representatives from professional hair company Wella and top Barnsley salon Russell Eaton for a Creative Techniques seminar.Over 80 business owners and staff from salons in the Barnsley area, as well as students from the College, attended the event. The seminar included a cross section of cutting and colouring techniques on long and short hair modelled by professional models.
Paul Oscroft, Customer Business Development Manager from Wella, said: “We decided the College was a great place to hold the seminar to enhance links and forge relationships within the industry.
“Russell Eaton Salons are important Wella clients and we thought it would be a great opportunity to bring a national level company into Barnsley College, especially as the salon is celebrating 35 successful years in the town.”
Robert Eaton, Creative Director at Russell Eaton, said: “This is a great chance to showcase commercial and catwalk cutting and colouring techniques and show how they can be used in everyday styles for clients.”
Jodie Palmer, also Creative Director, said: “You don’t have to be from London to get a high flying career in hairdressing; I have worked at both London and Paris Fashion Week and the opportunities are there if you work hard and stay focussed.”
