Russell Eaton celebrates 35 Years of industry success

Renowned as the go-to salon name in of the North of England, Russell Eaton is celebrating 35 years of success within the hairdressing industry this year. Situated in Yorkshire, after starting from humble beginnings in a small room above Barnsley fashion boutique, Polyanna, the brand now has salons in Barnsley and Leeds, along with a flagship Spa in Leeds.

As a family run business, Russell Eaton has a rich heritage in hairdressing expertise and a strong family core to thank for its long reigning success.  Established in 1978 by Russell Eaton, the salons have proved to be an inspiration for the family’s next generation, son Robert and daughter Isobel. 

Son Robert is now Creative Director, taking the reins from his father. With numerous styling credits to his name, Robert has become one of Britain’s most exciting hair stylists. A member of the British Hairdressing Awards Hall of Fame, Robert has a number of awards under his belt including winning the renowned national L’Oreal Professionnel Colour Trophy twice.

Daughter Isobel boasts a successful background in fashion hair styling and now leads the Russell Eaton artistic team. She has a Colour Specialist degree and has won awards such as the Umberto Gianni Project X ‘Student of the Year’ award.

Known for their colour expertise, the salons have received numerous accolades over the brand’s 35 year history. From being included in the ‘Top 5 salons in the UK for ultimate hair colour experience’ by Harpers Bazaar to entering into the record books as one of only two salons who have ever won the L’Oreal Colour Trophy twice in the awards’ 65 year history.

Russell Eaton continues to build on its rich hairdressing heritage by investing in the future of upcoming stylists. This year sees the brand partner with White Rose Beauty to launch a new training facility, The Hairdressing Academy for the Elite. The Academy prides itself on excellence and provides the very best apprenticeship training for 16-18 year olds and adults.
